Rode SC6-L Mobile Interview Kit includes the SC6-L Mobile Interface, two smartLav+ lapel microphones, and accessories such as storage pouches, mic clips, and windshields. The SC6-L interface facilitates the recording of 24-bit / 48 kHz broadcast-quality audio, giving you two TRRS inputs for the microphones, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a lightning connector for your iOS device. The microphones record two interview subjects at a time, and the accessories allow you to affix the mics, fight against vocal plosives, and store the mics for later use.

With the SC6-L Mobile Interview Kit, you’ll have everything you need to record audio from two interview subjects straight into your iOS device, doing so at broadcast quality.

SC6-L Mobile Interface for iOS Devices

The RODE SC6-L is an interface designed to record two-person interviews directly to your iOS device. The interface accepts the inputs of the RODE smartLav+ microphone, multiple types of RODE VideoMics (in conjunction with TRRS adapters), and third-party microphones with the appropriate TRRS connection points.

At one end of the SC6-L, you’ll find two 3.5mm TRRS jacks. These are for your microphones. Between the two TRRS jacks is a 3.5mm headphone output for monitoring the incoming signal. At the other end of the interface you’ll see the lightning connector, which routes digital signal into your iOS device.

The SC6-L facilitates audio recording at resolutions of 24-bit and sample rates of up to 48 kHz, making it a broadcast-quality unit.

The SC6-L works with the RODE Reporter App. This app allows you to change preamp gain and switch between record modes. You can also turn direct monitoring on or off from the app. Other apps work with the SC6-L such as the onboard Camera app, GarageBand, Voice Memos, and others. The SC6-L is compatible with devices sporting iOS 11 and later.

smartLav+ Lavalier Condenser Microphone for Smartphones

The Rode smartLav+ is a lavalier microphone for your Apple or Android mobile device that is designed to deliver high-quality audio recording. The smartLav+ clips on to your shirt or lapel, and the sensitive, omnidirectional condenser capsule captures the sound equally from all sides of the microphone. This design lends to effective, hands-free recording of speeches, interviews, dictations and more.

The smartLav+ is equipped with a Kevlar-reinforced cable that has been strain tested up to 10kg to help ensure reliable performance. It uses a grey-sleeved TRRS connector to connect into your smartphone or tablet’s headphone input and it works with most audio recording apps.

The smartLav+ also features improved sensitivity and higher signal-to-noise ratio over the original smartLav. The package comes with a mic clip with cable management, a foam pop shield and a small carry pouch.
