The 7260A SAM Studio Subwoofer from Genelec is a Smart Active Monitoring subwoofer for use in professional studio and broadcasting environments. Created with a Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) bass reflex cabinet, which minimizes turbulence noise and enables a long reflex tube to be built into a small unit, the 7260A is designed to deliver articulate and precise low frequency reproduction, with a 10″ front-firing driver capable of reproducing tones as low as 19 Hz. It has an integrated 120W amplifier with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to support up to eight channels of AES/EBU digital audio, accepting sampling rates ranging from 32 to 192 kHz. The subwoofer also contains active DSP crossover filters and driver overload protection circuitry, as well as fully digital monitor bus outputs. All standard 7000 series functions are available in Stand-Alone mode, and additional features are available through GLM monitoring software. To take full advantage of the subwoofer’s DSP features, a Genelec GLM calibration kit is required, available separately.
